More About Anjali Kunapaneni

Anjali is a trans-masculine non-binary actor of Indian descent – they’ve been in the VO space for some time now working primarily in commercial, narration, video games, animation, and dubbing. They have a love for storytelling, and in their downtime can be found either a) consuming every book, movie, or show they can get their hands on or b) toiling away at their latest novel.

Anjali grew up on the move – originally born in Michigan, they collected over ten schools over their twelve year primary education – and have lived all across the United States and even for a time in Bangalore, India. As an adult, Anjali stayed on the move jumping around the States, living for some time in London, before finally settling in Los Angeles.

Throughout the years, Anjali has always been passionate about advocacy – they got their BA in Public Policy at the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University, with a particular interest in migrants’ rights. This led to advocacy work at the American Civil Liberties Union’s National Political Advocacy Department in Washington D.C. and non-profit work with Catholic Charities Legal Services in Miami.

In the midst of their interest in policy work, Anjali also held a life-long interest in performance that would eventually manifest in branching off to pursue voiceover. Since then, they’ve gone in full force into acting and VO, but their passion for advocacy never weaned, and they’ve been involved with a number of actor groups to push for better pay and work conditions, particularly during the pandemic, and was involved in creating the Queer Vox LGBTQIA+ VO Directory to highlight and promote queer voices in the VO space that have long-been left unheard.

During their time working in VO, some of their commercial clients include Disney+, UPS, Amazon, Instacart, Pepsi, Netflix, Apple, Maybelline, Hartz, Boost Mobile, Youtube, M&Ms, Fruit of the Loom, and more – and they’re particularly prolific in the character space. Their clients from released projects include EA Games, Riot Games, Respawn Entertainment, Netflix Animation, Gearbox Software, the FOX Broadcasting Company, Konami, GKIDS Films, Production I.G, Square Enix, Capcom, Spike Chunsoft, Rooster Teeth, MGA Entertainment, and more.

Political Issues & Causes:

Anjali is passionate about immigration issues, LGBTQIA+ and particularly trans issues, and criminal justice reform.
